I grow up in an Asian community. The ‘S’ word or anything in
relation to it is a big taboo. No one speaks of it in the open,
especially the adults. The adults bear the mentality that one should
find out about *ahem* on his or her own. No parent will discuss this
subject with their kids.

Growing up in this context is a bit difficult because we are not
encouraged to mention this subject. It feels weird to write about it,
even more so to talk about it among other Asian friends because it’s
not a ‘normal thing’ in the community. There’s no one for us to ask
questions, or to learn what it really means. So what better way to do a
little investigation than fully utilizing the internet?

Now, the internet is a source for a lot of things you don’t learn
from books. Like, how can porn be explained? It can only be
demonstrated. Okay, that didn’t come out right, but you know what I
mean. Just imagine that I’m talking about National Geographic or the
Discovery Channel but the topic is on human anatomy, okay? I hope I’m
making sense.
